Officer Eugene Goodman Who Diverted Angry Mob At Capitol Escorts Kamala Harris To Inauguration

On Wednesday, Jan. 6, Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman led the mob on a chase in an effort to divert it away from the unguarded Senate chambers, where Senators, staff and reporters took shelter.

According to Goodman was also made an honorary Deputy Sergeant at Arms for Inauguration Day. Goodman waited for Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden upon their arrival at the East Front of the Capitol. Moments into the ceremony, he was introduced before Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff entered the inauguration stage on the West Front.

Goodman, is a 101st Airborne veteran who was deployed twice in Iraq, escorted Harris as part of his new role as acting deputy Senate sergeant-at-arms. For us to see this made all of us in America very, very PROUD today.
