Black Fact = 1931 (March 25)- Ida B. Wells-Barnett, reformer who gathered the first statistical records on lynchings in the United States, died in Chicago, IL,. She was an American investigative journalist, educator, and early leader in the civil rights movement. She was one of the founders of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the founding of what may have been the first Black women’s suffrage group.
