According to TheGRIO , Harry Belafonte (March 1,1927 – April 25,2023) , the “King of Calypso” and a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. who became one of America’s endearing and enduring civil-rights activists into his 10th decade, has died. He was 96.
Belafonte passed away Tuesday,April 25,2023 at his home in New York of congestive heart failure,
representative Paula Witt said in a statement Tuesday.
