Roxanne Shanté (1969- ) is an American hip hop pioneer who is a musician and rapper. Born and raised in the Queensbridge Projects of Queens, New York City, Shante was the first to gain attention through the Roxanne Wars and was the only female who was apart of the Juice Crew.
