1- Black Fact = 1991 (September 8) – Jazz Innovator Miles Davis dies.

Jazz trumpeter and composer Miles Davis died in Santa Monica, California from complications following a stroke. He was 65.

Instrumental in the development of jazz, Miles Davis is considered one of the top musicians of his era. Born in Illinois in 1926, he traveled at age 18 to New York City to pursue music. Throughout his life, he was at the helm of a changing concept of jazz. Winner of eight Grammy awards, Miles Davis died on September 28, 1991 from respiratory distress in Santa Monica, California.

2- Black Fact = 2000 (September 28)- Venus and Serena Williams won the Olympic Gold Medal in women’s doubles tennis in Sidney, Australia, on this date in 2000. With this win, Venus became the only woman to win gold in singles and doubles since 1924.

3- Black Fact = 1921 (September 28) – George Alexander McGuire, was consecrated the first Bishop of the African Orthodox Church, on this date in 1921. #theraydiotwins
