Black Fact = 1922 (Jan. 8) – Colonel Charles R. Young, the first black person to achieve that rank in the U.S. Army, died in Lagos, Nigeria on this date in 1922. To prevent his making the rank of General, Young was retired during World War I for his so-called “poor health. #theraydiotwins
