Black Fact = 1975 ( August 27) – Haile Selassie, the deposed emperor of Ethiopia, died at age 83 on this date in 1975.
Haile Selassie (born Tafari Makonnen in 1892) was the last Emperor of Ethiopia, ruling from 1930 to 1974. Known as “Power of the Trinity” and the “King of Kings,” he rose to power as regent and then led Ethiopia through its resistance against the 1935 Italian invasion, going into exile until his 1941 return. He modernized Ethiopia with constitutional reforms and promoted African unity, but his absolute rule, perceived indifference to famine, and growing corruption ultimately led to his overthrow and death in 1975. #theraydiotwins
